Sexy Brown Smoky Eye Tutorial Feat. the Elf Prism Palette in Naked

When I think of Summer nights, I think of glam browns and glittery neutrals with a small dash of color. Well, I fell in love with this look so I wanted to share it with you guys, just in case you need an idea or inspiration!

Step 1: I primed my lids using the Elf Glitter Primer.

Step 2: I then applied a black kohl liner (Elf Studio Kohl Eyeliner) to the outer "V" of my lids, and smudged and blended it outwards and upwards with a brush to soften the harsh lines.

Step 3: I then took the second shade in the Elf Prism Palette (Naked) and applied this to the open space on my eyelids, stopping at the black liner.

Step 4: I then used the third shade in the palette and applied that in the center of my eyelids and blended slightly where the edge of the black liner was.

Step 5: I then applied the last shade (darkest color) to the black liner.

Step 6: I used the second shade to soften the black/brown line right above my crease.

Step 7: I then used that same liner and BARELY dotted right underneath my lower lash line. I used the smudging side to blend it towards the inner corner of my eye, but stopped about two thirds of the way.

Step 8: I then used the darkest shade in the palette again, but this time I applied it directly to the black liner underneath my lower lash line. I blended it gently with a brush so I'd have a smoky effect.

9: I then used a black pencil (this one is by MUA) and created a cat-eye on my upper lash lines.

Step 10: I then applied a mascara primer for some extra volume on my lashes. I used Elf's Mascara Primer.

Step 11: I then applied the MUA black eye liner pencil to my waterline while I was waiting for the mascara primer to dry

Step 12: Next I applied 2 coats of Elf's Mineral Infused Mascara

Finished Eyes:

Step 13: I then applied a peachy-pink blush. I'm using a blush by Tarte called Blissful.

Step 14: Next I used a Baked Highlighter  by Elf in the shade Blush Gems to brighten the top of my cheeks, nose and chin.

Step 15: I then applied a nude lippie by Elf. this one is the Matte lipstick in Natural.

Finished Look:

What do you guys think of this look? Would you wear this out and about? Have you tried the Elf Prism palette yet? If so, what do you think about it?

Mermaid Eyeshadow 2 Feat. Sleek Cosmetics I-Divine Lagoon Palette

Everyone's so crazy about mermaid shades. This takes me back to the late 80's when I was going through my Mom's cosmetic bag and found all of those super bright shades that she no longer wore.

So let's get started!

Step 1: I primed my eyes with Elf's Smudge Pot in Pearls of Wisdom

Step 2: I then applied the bright coral shade to my eyelid, but not the inner corner.

Step 3: I then applied the silver/white shade to the inner corner of my eyelid.

Step 4: I then applied the duochrome greenblue shade right above my lid in the crease and blended upwards and outwards.

Step 5: I then applied the yellow shade to my brow bone.

Step 6: I then applied the dark matte blue onto the outer corner of my eyelid and blended it upwards and a third of the way across my eye upon my crease.

Step 7: I then applied a light purple liner underneath my lower lash line. I used Urban Decay's Asphyxia.

Step 8: I then applied the matte purple shade from before, directly on top of the light purple liner.

Step 9: Using a black gel eyeliner, (mine's a no-name one from ebay) I created a dramatic cat-eye.

Step 10: I then lined my waterline using a black liner--this one is the Rimmel Scandaleyes in Black.

Step 11:  I then coated my lashes with a black mascara. I'm using Smashbox's Full Exposure Mascara.

FINISHED LOOK:

What do you guys think of this one? Would any of you wear this out? I want to hear from you!

Mermaid Eye Tutorial using Urban Decay's Ammo Palette

Another trend this Summer has been a beautiful array of "mermaid" colors such as light blues, light greens, light pinks and light purples. This is my first try with this seasonal look, and I like it so much that you can expect at least another this season!

Step 1: I'm priming my eyes with the Elf Smudge Pot in Pearls of Wisdom. This product stays put for such a long time, and it's starting to become a regular on my vanity table. I applied it to right above my crease.

Step 2: I then applied Shattered from the Ammo palette in the center of my eyelids. I left the outer corner and inner corner without product.

Step 3: I then applied Sin underneath my brows as a highlight. It's a nice nude shade that is slightly shimmery.
I blended this a tad downwards.

Step 4: I then applied Chopper to my crease. I blended this upwards and outwards.

Step 5: I then applied Polyester Bride to the inner corner of my eyes. I also applied it as a highlight for my tear-duct area.

Step 6: I then applied Smog to the outer corner of my lids and the V of my eyelids.

Step 7: I then used a bright blue eyeliner (you can use a black one, or even a white cream base for this) and I lined right under my lower waterline. I used Urban Decay's 24/7 Liner in Deep End.

Step 8: I then dabbed Shattered right on top of the liner with a small precision brush.

Step 9: I then applied a black eyeliner to my upper lash line. I used Too Faced's Perfect Black Liner and smudged it with the smudging end.

Step 10: I lined my waterline with the Urban Decay liner from Step 7.

Step 11: I then applied a black mascara. I'm using Elf's Mineral Infused Mascara.

Step 12: I  then swept on some blush, because blush is pretty cool and can balance out any look. The blush I chose for this look was Benefit's Coralista.

Step 13: I then applied a nude lippie to help keep the focus on my eyes. I chose MAC's Shy Shine.

The Finished Look:

What do you guys think? Would you wear these colors this Summer?
